Week 8 MBA:6101 CASA Marketing

 According to casamarketing.org the biggest skill to have since approximately 2013 has been digital marketing. Every year LinkedIn comes out with top skills for demand to get hired in the work place and even offers several courses for people. for the most recent skills of 2021 they included software development, project management, data analysis, digital marketing, and product management. Some of the same attributes that have been the same in demand other than digital marketing since 2013 have been social media marketing, online marketing and recruiting, and business intelligence. Due to the pandemic digital marketing has become a top 5 skill because online business activity has increased astronomically. 

Additionally, another often skills that appeared as a top skill for the first few years was cloud and distributed computing and marketing campaign management which I found interesting due to the fact we had to run an ad campaign in this class. Lots of software engineer jobs and sales management jobs stayed consistent for most promising jobs throughout the years. I will say that one thing I noticed was at the 2019 point the second most promising job was artificial intelligence. This was right when Dr. Kelsey wrote Surfing The Tsunami as well so I found that very fascinating. Another note too was that cloud computing and AI led LinkedIn global list for hard skills by the end of 2020 and medical and nursing jobs stopped becoming top promising jobs as the years went on. I assume that more analytical and technical engineering jobs started becoming higher in demand given the amount of jobs being created with AI. After reviewing all of this research and analyzing the data it is easy to conclude that based on industry analysis it is evident social media marketing is a rapid growth area and search engine marketing is producing the most revenue. All in all I feel the biggest takeaway Dr. Kelsey would want us to take from this is that year to year digital marketing is continuing to come out on top as a top skill for getting people hired even against coding and software development. This is great because after all we are not engineers.
