Week 7 MBA: 6101 Surfing the Tsunami Chp 7

Diving into chapter seven Dr. Kelsey puts how AI is a community into perspective for us. More specifically about the core elements of AI from the people that created them and brought them forward. We meet a few leaders in the AI field in this chapter as they provide resources for us to further out research into AI as well as conducted interviews from their perspective and how they work in the field. The first person we meet is a Stanford grad named Andrew Ng who is a leader in AI and helped launch "Massively Open Online Courses". The courses he took at Stanford were on machine learning and  allowed him to open up to this field. They are still influential to people and can be accessed on coursera.com. Andrew had worked on other platforms and search engines in China before he came back to the US to be the chairman and founder of Coursera.

One of Andrews biggest achievements was coming back to the US to specifically work on developing training material to help people learn about deep learning, which is the latest technique for using neural networks to process and analyze data. (Kelsey 2019) Then ultimately leading up to working with Geoffrey Hinton to turn neural networks which was considered an unsuccessful branch of AI into a great success by creating image recognition systems built on neural networks. After reading all of the interviews and hearing all of the perspectives of these leaders in AI and how we the students can get involved with coding, a lot of information has been brought out about the entire AI community. I have concluded as we learn more about AI articles, books, and courses are truly going to be the superb way of how we can go into deep thinking and embrace AI fully.
