Surfing the Tsunami Chp 5

 Dr. Kelsey reiterates the importance of adopting to AI. It is creating job prospects as it is continuing to rise in perfection. This is why if we are aware of where things are headed and being familiar to AI tools and platforms it can help us manage the employment jobs AI can potentially give us. Like Dr. Kelsey said, the purpose of him promoting awareness of AI is for his best interests in his students employment options. (T. Kelsey p96) So if we are directly working with AI, when technology comes and replaces human workers, some cases jobs are created and we will be ready for that moment and give us the most optimal chance of employment. We look at this from an economical standpoint and look at the things AI has created, Amazon a prime example which is taking a monopoly in the retail industry. Weakening the middle class can have serious problems on the economy and large businesses are taking jobs based on the success of "Delivering the best price to consumers" 

A powerful example is provided when comparing the trojan horse was given as a gift in ancient history and when the trojan horse was brought into the city a bunch of soldiers came out and took over the city. Technology is a great gift to a lot of us that do a lot of things and make our lives convenient. Could AI become so powerful that when we think it is going to look out for us and serve us do you think AI would turn its back on us if it had the power? We consider it a realist argument and when we refer the data and evidence from chapter 3 we are not sure if anything can really stop AI. Therefore, my individual thoughts on this matter is that if nobody is going to stop it from progressing, what kind of risks and threats are we taking towards humanity? Is this going to create opportunity or create a force that will help us or stab us in the back? With this we ask ourselves do we accept the alternative, which is to ignore, resist and reject AI.
