surfing The Tsunami Chp 4
This weeks reading focuses on the matter of how we adapt to AI and be aware of the direction it is heading in. After reading last weeks material on understanding on how to take action with AI we now dive into how we can adapt with AI performing tasks humans used to do. Once AI tools and platforms are polished for use then that will allow humans to adapt in the sense that it will open jobs to manage AI and get involved with directly developing and analyzing data. Dr. Kelsey demonstrates a unique example about smartphones and who is really in control. Phones are so attached to our lives that it is "reflexive" to pick them up and prevents us from being proactive. (T. Kelsey 2019) However, given the fact we are so tied to our smartphones it optimizes the power of AI when developing apps and social networks that take away our attention. Given this note we understand how to make time to be a self starter and using AI to our advantage to take initiative. For example Dr. Kelsey noted that google calendar was a helpful tool to help him stay on track to build good habits.
The most important key I got from the material was digging deeper into research like reading books and articles will help you further explore in the learning journey. With this we learned that ecommerce which is electronic retail has put man made retail stores in jeopardy. The prime example is amazon the most widely used online store that we believe has taken many retail jobs. Things like this are effecting wealth groups, purchasing power, and the economy. Therefore, with the given data we start to see the direction of how AI is going to affect all of these things. It is evident that things are getting demolished with new and convenient technology and how it is hurting the stakeholders and out competing other jobs is why we must adapt as this forum is rising.
